"1901" is originally an alternative rock song recorded by the French band Phoenix and included in the band's fourth studio album, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" (2009), to which it served as the lead single after its release on 23 Feb 2009. The song was written by band member Thomas Mars and co-produced by the band members with Philippe Zdar. English singer Birdy included a folk cover version of the song in her self-titled debut studio album, "Birdy" (2011).
