"Your Song" is originally a pop ballad composed and sung by British artist Elton John for his self-titled sophomore album released in 1970. The song’s lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin, a longtime collaborator of the singer, describing, with boyish innocence, the romantic vision the song’s protagonist had of the person he was in love with.

The song attained critical and commercial success and is now considered a classic love song. English singer Ellie Goulding included a cover version of the song in the re-release of her debut album, Bright Lights (2010), and, just like the original, was critically well received and had a good commercial performance.
